In addition to Watkins Glen, we visited Montour Falls, Buttermilk Falls, and Taughannock Falls.  Montour and Buttermilk are more on a steep but gradual slope.  Taughannock is a more impressive vertical drop of 215 feet.  You can drive fairly close to Montour and Buttermilk but Taughhannock is a pleasant 3/4 mile walk up the gorge.  (Please note that there are other “Buttermilk Falls”; this is the one in Ithaca, New York.)  I liked Taughannock best. . . .
